NAR Update from MSBR President Shelby Roney

Yesterday you were e-mailed information on the NAR lawsuit, in case you missed it, here is the update from Shelby Roney, MSBR President.

In the past few days, I have received calls and had personal chats regarding the Burnett vs NAR trial. Your leadership team wanted to reiterate that although the verdict in this trial wasn't favorable for NAR, they may appeal the decision and MSBR will be keeping you in the loop.

What does this mean for us?

At this point, business is as usual.  The aftereffects of this trial and future verdicts could be a long way off, but that doesn't mean we should sit back and wait.

Instead, take a breath and read the latest developments using reliable sources. No one wants to spread misinformation or cause a panic.

While an unfavorable outcome seems disheartening, it does not define our character or our worth as REALTORS, who advocate for property rights, favorable lending regulations and affordable housing on behalf of home buyers and sellers.

If anything, we REALTORS need to explain our value to our clients.

Sentrilock App Update

SentriLock has updated the SentriKey® Real Estate mobile app to make it easier to end a showing. This improvement ensures that listing agents and homeowners receive timely notice when a showing is complete.

What’s changing? They got rid of the stopwatch icon in the top right corner of the showing information carousel. The blue “End Showing” button is now red to make it easily distinguishable and is now more visible in the showing information carousel as well as on the home screen of your app.

How does this improve the REALTOR® experience? : This reconfiguration will allow showing agents to manually end showings in a more timely fashion, since the button is now accessible at any time on the home screen, even if you minimize the app.

Why is this important? :With this change, SentriLock is able to provide more precise showing data to REALTORS® more efficiently. That being said, SentriLock will continue to automatically end a showing in the case that the agent does not do so themselves. However, manually ending the showing will provide the most accurate notification to agents and homeowners.
