NAR CEO, 2026 president share optimistic progress report

National Association of REALTORS® CEO Nykia Wright and 2026 NAR President-elect Kevin Brown spoke to a crowd of state and local association leaders in Chicago on Monday. Their address highlighted the top ways NAR is collaborating association-wide to improve the member experience. After months of planning, budgeting and staff changes, stakeholders will soon see the "fruit of that labor," Wright said. "We can help members tackle issues by running NAR with the ethos of a large enterprise company, one focused on efficiency, growth and success," Brown said.

Take Steps to Prevent Fraud.

Place a Fraud Alert:

  • Contact one of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) to request a fraud alert on your credit report.
  • This alerts creditors to take extra steps to verify your identity before issuing credit.

Credit Freeze:

  • Consider placing a credit freeze with all three bureaus. This prevents new creditors from accessing your credit report without your consent.
  • You can temporarily lift the freeze when you need to apply for credit.

Monitor your accounts:

  • Regularly check your bank and credit card statements for unauthorized transactions.
  • Use a credit monitoring service to receive alerts about changes to your credit report.

...and to those who received a fraud e-mail from me last week- I am sorry and steps have been taken to correct this.
