Town of Easton asking for your input.
The Town of Easton is working in partnership with the Easton Economic Development Corporation to conduct an assessment of the Easton market. People often undervalue the inherent relationship between commercial market absorption and land use planning.
The assessment is useful in determining our market demand (or lack of) in various commercial sectors, including retail and entertainment, but is also useful in informing our future strategies for business development along the Dover Street corridor.
A critical part of the assessment is understanding our primary market. To that end, we are conducting a survey of residents in Easton and Talbot County. The survey is completely anonymous. Please spread the word by passing the survey link to others.
You can take the survey by going here: Market Survey
The topic of missing middle housing is one of great interest not just in the East End, but in our wider community and in communities all across the country.
The Mid-Shore Board of Realtors has launched a site regarding missing middle housing.

Within just four years, Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, two of America’s most influential and notable abolitionists, were born in close proximity on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Douglass was born in 1818 in Talbot County; four years later, Tubman was born just a few miles south, in Dorchester County.
When it came to their approaches to abolitionism, the difference between them was “marked,” as Douglass himself once wrote. Douglass fought slavery and systemic racism out in the open, speaking to masses of people and chronicling the horrors of his youth in books and his abolitionist newspaper, The North Star. Tubman’s activism was more “under the radar,” says Dale Glenwood Green, Professor of Architecture and Historic Preservation at Morgan State University. Her work helping enslaved people escape was illegal and had to be more clandestine.

NAR Interim CEO Nykia Wright address THE REAL STORY
This is a challenging moment for the real estate industry and for NAR. External commentary has seized on those challenges and purported to tell our story for us.
The real story is this: NAR recognizes the challenges of the moment, and we are focused on moving our association and our industry forward.
On the legal front, we recognize that the challenges facing our industry are complex and multifaceted. We’re mindful of the profound obligation we have to guide our industry and organization going forward, especially in ongoing antitrust litigation.

MSBR is sad to announce the passing of REALTOR Rita Petitt
Rita worked at the Star Democrat and Bayshore Foods before working in the real estate office of Bud Wood Realty. It was here that Rita discovered her love of real estate. She and Buzz eventually opened Petitt Realty, opening an office on Goldsborough Street. Even after Buzz’s passing, Rita expanded her business into Petitt Enterprises. Rita owned and managed over two dozen rental properties in the Easton/Talbot County area and continued to run the day-to-day activities of her company up until a few months before her passing.
