Let's look at some positive things that are happening:

  • New Home Sales had their 3rd best year since 2008
  • 1/3 of the homes sold above list price
  • Proposed Federal legislation would give a tax credit to investors to encourage them to sell their investment properties
  • Rental vacancy rates are rising which should slow down monthly rental increases
  • Fed's know the higher interest rates are hurting Community Banks-expect to see a rate cut 
  • Jobs are needed  to buy a home, and 5.5 million jobs were recently created
 

Maryland REALTORS Property Management Certification   

Registration Opens Today- April 9th  

 

Maryland REALTORS will hold the Property Management Certification on June 18 and again on November 19, 2024.   Registration opens today! 

 

Agents will need to fill out form at the bottom Maryland Residential Property Management Certification (mdrealtor.org)

Watch NAR’s Award-Winning Bias Override Videos

NAR has released videos in partnership with the Perception Institute to introduce the mind science of identity to REALTORS®. Watch the videos to get acquainted with the concepts, then sign up for the interactive classroom course to further explore strategies to override bias in your business.

 

We've Got Your Education 

 

The Sellers Representative Specialist (SRS) course is being offered at the MSBR  office on April 23 & 24th

 

The Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) course at Maryland REALTORS sold out in one day! They will hold it again in the fall, but you can still sign up with NAR

 

MSBR is offering the SRS for only $250- on April 23 and 24th. 

 

 

Steps to obtain the ABR Designation:

  1. Take the ABR course on-line or with a live webinar.
  2. Take 1 qualifying elective course like the SRS being offered at MSBR on April 23 & 24 in-person.
  3. Complete 5 transactions in your career.
  4. Once all completed submit your application.
  5. Annual fee of $110 is waived for the 1st year.

Accredited Buyers Representative Course (ABR)- free through the end of 2024. Complete the course via live interactive 2-day webinar or online at your own pace. No CE credit.

Sellers Representative Specialist Course (SRS)- MSBR will hold this 2-day class in person at the Board office on April 23 & April 24th. Early bird cost is $250 by April 10th, afterwards the cost is $295.   6 elective hours of CE credit.

I think the more knowledge we have when working with sellers is critical. This is especially important when educating sellers on what agents do and discussing an agent’s value.

 

The MSBR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee toured the Waters Edge Museum in Oxford. Dr. Lydia Williams led us on an amazing journey as we learned about artist, sailmakers and those who shaped the community.

How to Participate-To find an opportunity that interests you, scroll down to see committee descriptions. Please check to see whether a committee has prerequisites and determine if you meet those requirements. Your responses will be carefully considered to help us seat the most appropriate, diverse, and inclusive teams possible.


If you are a current committee member and wish to remain on your current committee for 2024 – 2025, you must complete the Volunteer Request form to indicate your continued interest in volunteering.
