As a direct result of REALTOR advocacy efforts, the State Archives will be withdrawing this .20/page proposal. This Advocacy efforts (RPAC) saved you hundreds of dollars!
Maryland Archives has put on hold the .20 charge per page to view or print land records. OUR RPAC/Advocacy stopped this!
In March, the Maryland Archives alerted users of the Land Records system (MDLandRec.net) that a new user fee of $0.20/page would be implemented to coincide with the launch of a new records database.
Since the fee announcement, Maryland REALTORS® has partnered with other members of the real estate industry to explain its negative impacts and stop its implementation. You can read the coalition’s full policy analysis below.
Maryland REALTORS® will continue to work with our coalition partners, the General Assembly, the Maryland Judiciary, and the State Archives in the next legislative session to reach an acceptable resolution.

Does your license renew on or after Oct 1 2025? If so, this is for YOU. Effective October 1, 2025 the requirements for the Fair Housing credits are changing to 2.0 hours.
There is NOTHING in the law that allows licensees who have already completed their current 1.5 hours to be grandfathered even though their license might not renew until after October1, 2025. In other words, they will BE REQUIRED to have 2.0 hours of Fair Housing if they renew on or after October 1, 2025. MSBR knew this was happening so we have only been offering the 2.0 hour version.
One suggestion to licensees that don't have 2.0 hours of Fair Housing is that they renew their license within the 60 day window prior to their October expiration date as the Real Estate system will still accept the 1.5 hours of Fair Housing up until September 30, 2025.
The Commission will be sending out an email blast to all licensees advising them of the requirement for 2.0 hours for anyone whose license expires after September 30, 2025.

The National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors Decisions
NO INCREASE in NAR Dues in 2026.
- Approved the 2026 operating and advocacy budgets, and kept NAR dues at $156-
Hate Speech Clarification
- Amended Standard of Practice 10-5 to give state and local associations greater clarity in how to fairly and consistently enforce Article 10 of the Code of Ethics. The amended Standard of Practice says that REALTORS®, in their capacity as real estate professionals, in association with their real estate businesses, or in their real estate-related activities, shall not harass any person or persons based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Learn more about the changes.
Read the revised Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
NAR ends separation of MLS, non-MLS listings
- The rule, often referred to as "no commingling," allowed MLSs to require that listings from non-MLS sources be displayed separately from MLS listings. The rule was always optional, and now it's no longer part of NAR policy.
FYI Only- BRIGHT MLS has permitted commingling property data on IDX-licensed websites for more than a year.
NAR membership remains strong As business owners in a rapidly evolving industry, real estate professionals continue to recognize the value that being a REALTOR® offers. NAR Treasurer Craig Sanford reported at the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors meeting Thursday that membership stands above 1.45 million and well ahead of the association's forecast for 2025
