MSBR Advocating for
Cambridge & Hurlock Residents
Well worth your RPAC contribution!
MSBR sent a letter to the Dorchester County Council regarding their proposed elimination of the current tax differential for Cambridge and Hurlock residents. Lajan Cephas, Cambridge Mayor, referenced the MSBR letter in her presentation to the Council members.
May 21st, Dorchester Council passed the budget, which leaves in the tax differential for Cambridge and Hurlock. We won!
The compromise was that the 3-cent increase would be imposed across the board equally on all residents.
The new tax rate is as follows: For Dorchester County residents, $1.03 per $100 of assessed value. Cambridge residents will pay 95.67 cents per $100 of assessed value, and Hurlock residents will pay 94.79 cents per $100 of assessed value.

- Can't attend: e-mail or call to let us know if you need to cancel, 410-822-8767
- Punctuality is essential: You must be logged into the Zoom meeting at least 10 minutes before the start time.
- Proper identification is required: Please change your screen name to “MSBR – [Your First and Last Name].” Example: MSBR Deb Leber
- Stay focused: CE classes are not open sessions. They have structured material that must be covered for you to receive credit.
To keep the class on track, we will mute participants, and we ask that all questions for the instructor be submitted via the chat box. With over 100 attendees in some sessions, these guidelines help ensure everyone benefits fully from the class.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
